Matagorda 4x4 Trip 2018

Post by mgiannaccio1 » Thu Mar 29, 2018 8:36 pm

Okay everyone, we decided since the last trip was so much fun, we'd make this an annual trip! The date for this trip is going to be somtime in may. Either myself or possibly JH Reels will be leading the trip once again and it looks like the plan is to get there on a Friday morning and stay the weekend. A 2wd truck can make it to 3-mile cut where we camped last time if you're strategic about your route. If you're going with 2wd drive make sure you have support from a 4wd vehicle just incase.

Let me know if any particular date does or doesn't work for y'all. If nobody suggests a date we will pick and roll. Start posting on this thread if you're interested and lets get this trip going!

One of my friends wants to go but he has never kayak fished before. I'm going to try and take him out kayak fishing a few times before then to see if he likes it

How would may 25-27 work for everyone? I know its memorial day weekend so that's why I ask. If it wont work for a lot of people we can look at some other dates.

So Memorial Day weekend is probably not looking super great. I’m sure it’ll be crazy busy out there so I’d rather pick a date with less people and fishing pressure. Any suggestions?

So I was thinking maybe we could do this Father’s Day weekend? Give Dad the gift of fishing!

Let me know what y’all think. I’m really wanting to make this trip happen.
